The third batch of 70 Volvo Olympians 3-axle were ordered by then-Singapore Bus Services. These were the last high-floor double deck buses to be introduced, and were fitted with Walter Alexander Royale bodywork. The first of these units entered service in 1999, and the interior scheme of these buses were similar to Batch Two Olympians.
Batch Three Olympians were fitted with Volvo TD102KF engine (9,603cc) and 4-speed ZF 4HP 500 automatic transmission, with air-conditioning supplied from Nippondenso. Until 2011, Batch Two and Batch Three Olympians were identical in their external appearance. The entire Volvo Olympian 3-Axle Batch Three fleet was refitted with LECIP EDS between 2009 and 2011. The installation of Lecip EDS in Batch Three Olympians have since made it a distinguishing feature from the older Olympians.
