Home / SBS Transit, Singapore (before GCM/BCM) / Volvo B9TL (Euro V, Wright Eclipse Gemini 2) / Batch 4 628

As 450 Euro V B9TLs were already brought in as part of its fleet expansion and renewal, SBS Transit placed a third order of 550 more units in July 2012. The bodywork was the second generation Wright Eclipse Gemini II that was supplied by Wrightbus of Ballymena, Northern Ireland. However, unlike other orders the kits were delivered in CKD (complete knock-down) form and then assembled by SBS Transit's technical counterpart, ComfortDelgro Engineering.

Batch Four units first entered service in January 2013. These buses were powered by the Volvo D9B310 EC06B engine (9,364cc) which is Euro V compliant with the use of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, requiring the use of Adblue. All Batch Four units were fitted with 4-speed Voith D864.5 automatic transmission. They were registered SBS3240E to SBS3299L (excluding SBS3269Z), and then SBS3600A to SBS3986L (to differentiate from the BSEP registrations).

Amongst other minor additional features, the main difference for Batch Four, as compared to the previous batches, lies with the air-conditioning system which is now supplied by Denso of Japan. They feature a new full low-floor configuration on the lower deck and received its EDS from either LECIP (earlier units) or Hanover Displays EDS (later units).
