Following an initial order of 150 Euro V B9TLs as parts of its fleet expansion and renewal, SBS Transit later placed a second order of 300 units in September 2010. The bodywork was the second generation Wright Eclipse Gemini II that was supplied by Wrightbus of Ballymena, Northern Ireland. However, unlike other orders the kits were delivered in CKD (complete knock-down) form and then assembled by SBS Transit's technical counterpart, ComfortDelgro Engineering.

The first of Batch Three buses entered service in November 2011. These buses were powered by the Volvo D9B310 EC06B engine (9,364cc) which is Euro V compliant with the use of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, requiring the use of Adblue. The subsequent 300 units (which Batch Three forms the bulk of this order) were fitted with 4-speed Voith D864.5 automatic transmission.

Air-conditioning was supplied by Eberspächer Sütrak, and its R488 model was a custom product designed to meet SBS Transit's requirements. The last 270 units, which make up the Batch Three Wrights and registered SBS3000G to SBS3238M, and a single unit SBS3269Z. They feature a new full low-floor configuration on the lower deck and received its EDS from LECIP (except SBS3189X which received Hanover Displays EDS).
