These Volvo B10M-60 Mark IV buses did not begin their career on direct SBS services - They originally served as Sentosa Island shuttles under subsidiary company SBS Leisure under private plates. First installed with Mobitec flip-dot EDS and bearing yellow-and-green livery, these were removed when 10 of these buses were transferred to direct SBS Transit control. These buses received PSV International bodywork which were delivered in CKD (complete knock-down) form and then assembled by Soon Chow.
Powered by the Volvo THD102KF engine (9,603cc) that is Euro I compliant and fitted with 3-speed Voith DIWA automatic transmission, there were only 20 initial units under SBS Leisure and they came with Sutrak air-conditioning. They served either as a training bus or on service 78 (Teban Gardens). These buses were always a rare delight for fans when they operate on other services (known as a cameo or odd-working).
