The final batch of B10M-60 Mark IV buses received their bodywork from Duple Metsec under the DM3500 make, and entered service in 1997. Each unit was powered by the Euro I compliant Volvo THD102KF engine (9,603cc) and fitted with 3-speed Voith D863.3 automatic transmission. Air-conditioning was supplied by Sutrak.

These 150 buses were the last step-floor buses purchased by SBS Transit. With higher seating capacity, these single deck buses were the preferred choice for Premium Bus Services (where standees are banned). They typically operate on long-haul routes with non-stopping sectors. From 2011 onwards, a substantial number of DM3500s were assigned to the cross-border services 160 and 170.
