Volvo B10M (Mark IV, WA) "Strider"

富豪B10M 第四型 (亚历山大) [Config : B50D or B48D]
This batch of 200 B10M Mark IV buses were introduced from 1995 and were bodied by Walter Alexander. The namesake is derived from the Strider badge that is placed above the driver's dashboard.

Each "Strider" is powered by the Volvo THD102KF engine (9,603cc) that is Euro I compliant and fitted with 4-speed ZF 4HP 500 automatic transmission. Air-conditioning was supplied by Sutrak. They typically operate on medium-haul routes where start-stop running is frequent.

The B10M Strider is the last single-deck bus model operated by SBS Transit to have bells placed on the side window panels. The elevated step between the seats and aisle made creation of a dedicated standing area unsuitable.

Some refurbished buses with red air-con ducts are adjusted by rotating the "eyeball" vent instead. A few of them even have their originally rounded hand grips replaced with a newer type that is triangular shaped.
