Home / SMRT Buses, Singapore (before GCM/BCM) / Mercedes-Benz O405 (Hispano CAC) / TIB792E 17

This bus was the first prototype O405 CAC unit to have its sliding windows removed and replaced with new ones that make it look as if they were air-conditioned all along.

For a while, those who relied on the sliding windows to determine if the O405 is a converted air-con model would easily mistake TIB792E for an original air-con model! It currently operates between Bukit Panjang and Shenton Way/Suntec City on service 700/700A.

Subsequent O405 CACs only had their sliding windows removed during the 2012 refurbishment for the purpose of lifespan extension. TIB792E retained its original green interior up to late 2012, when it was refurbished along with the rest of the CAC fleet.
