This batch of 20 (including 5 PA-registered) buses were built by Dennis Specialist Vehicles in Guildford, England and entered service from 2000. They are distinguished from the Malaysian-built Lances by their larger TwinVision LeDot EDS supplied by Transit Media (installed at introduction) and carried the standard green interior scheme Trans-Island used in that era with the newer and thicker green leather seat covers.
Along with the Malaysian-built Lances, they were the last buses in then Trans-Island to be bodied by Duple Metsec. All TIB-plated units were powered by the Cummins 6CTA8.3 engine (8,268cc) which is Euro II compliant and rated at 245hp, while all PA-plated Lance (UK) buses under SMRT's chartering wing used the Cummins 6CT8.3 engine which is Euro I compliant and rated at 211hp. All units are fitted with 4-speed ZF 4HP500 transmission, and air-conditioning was supplied by Denso of Japan.
All SMRT units except PA-plated Lances were prematurely retired from revenue service by April 2013.
