These 10.4m Volvo Olympians are the last non air-conditioned (NAC) fleet of public buses in Singapore. 100 such buses were purchased by Singapore Bus Services in an era where air-conditioned buses were still considered a luxury, and travellers were conscious about the choice of operators alternating between air-con and non air-con buses (this method was subsequently brought over when WABs were introduced).

These non-conditioned double-deckers entered service in 1994. While single-deckers could be easily converted to air-con, it is impossible for double-decks due to the sheer weight of the new air-conditioning unit, the precise reason why all air-con double-deckers are 3-axle vehicles. A hundred of them were purchased, fitted with the Volvo TD102KF engine (9,603cc) that is Euro I compliant and the 3-speed Voith D851.2 automatic transmission. They have now been largely confined to serving Jurong Industrial services in the western part of Singapore.

The last few units were quietly withdrawn from service by early September 2013, marking a new milestone of a fully air-conditioned bus fleet in Singapore. Two such Olympian have been re-exported to Metroline where they saw brief service in the United Kingdom.
